NITRIDING
DEFINITION :
  • Thermochemical treatment of only nitrogen diffusion, realised between 300°C and
    900°C. This treatment gives a superficial layer hardened.
  • The maximum temperature depends of the metallurgy of the steel which has to be treated. Please ask us for further informations.

LAYER CHARACTERISTICS :

  • Hardness: 500 to 1400 HV. The hardness level depends on the steel which has to be treated.
  • Depth: from 0,01 to 1 mm on construction steel and slightly alloyed steel. From 0,01 to 0,2 mm on stainless steel. The depth depends on the nature of the steel.
  • Application: On parts in steel and cast iron beforehand mass treated.
